Healthy eating

Seafood has long been known as a healthy eating option, but do you know why? Seafood not only tastes great, it’s nutritious, convenient and versatile.

The National Heart Foundation recommends that fish be consumed at least twice a week for cardiovascular benefit, such as lowering blood cholesterol levels.

Seafood is a high nutrient, low calorie food, one that is lean in fat but rich in protein.

Omega-3 fatty acids

Seafood is the richest and best natural source of an essential dietary oil called Long Chain Omega 3; essential because our bodies cannot function properly without it, but cannot manufacture it, so it must be obtained from the food we eat, especially finfish (the fatty tissue of finfish) but also crustaceans and shell fish.
